I don’t know about you, but it can be hard to remember a time before lockdown. In these unprecedented times, all around us things can seem to be falling apart. We are experiencing changes at lightning speed and at times, it can feel too much, you may feel distant from God and even abandoned by Him. But you see, that just isn’t the case! So today, God’s message is simple – You are Mine, you belong to my family, I will never leave you or forsake you.

In Isaiah 43 we have reason for hope, we see a promise.

But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

Isaiah 43:1 (NIV)

You see, God the one who created you, formed you in your mothers womb, breathed life into you - He has called you. Even with all your flaws, even with all your pains, even with all your baggage – you are His. Do not be afraid, because He loves you, He has redeemed you. He wants to be a part of your life. He wants to walk with you.

No one is too far from Him. Not too far from His Love. Not too far from His grace. He calls us all by name. He calls us all to follow Him. And He calls us all to be connected to Him, no matter how isolated we may feel. He wants a relationship with you.

The hardest part is giving it over to Him. But when you are at the foot of the cross, leave it there. Give it all over to Him. All your anxieties, all your burdens. He has got you. Trust in Him.

I’m in His hands, I’m in His hands;

Whatever the future holds, I’m in His hands;

The days I cannot see have all been planned for me;

His way is best, you see; I’m in His hands.

Together with God and as a part of His family we will get through these tough times.
