Encouragement - Hope With No If's or But's

"In Him, we are assured that good defeats evil, light sweeps away the darkness, health will be restored to our suffering world and spring will follow the darkest of winters."

- Mike Tyas

The light of the world is coming. He is coming for you and for me. God is faithful and through the birth of Christ delivers on His promise. His promise of love, of grace, of redemption, of a relationship restored. The waiting is over. His love for us gives us hope. Hope in tomorrow, hope for a better future, and hope not lost in the darkness. He gives us light so that the darkness cannot overcome us. In a manger 2000 years ago, the greatest act of love was in motion. The cogs of the master plan moving to bring light and hope to this dark world. The ultimate redemption underway.

In the middle of this first week of Advent, take time to reflect on the hope found in the birth of Christ.

Every year Christmas seems to be a blur of lights, of sounds, and of emotions. This year is different. Without a doubt 2020 has been a year that none of us expected. At times it has been very tough as we have seen our way of life changed beyond recognition as COVID-19 has spread. And even though this year Christmas will be very different, the message of God’s unfailing love is not. In a manger 2000 years ago a baby came from God, his son on earth and everything was about to change. The old way had gone, and the new was coming. In the birth of Jesus we gain something that we didn’t have before – Hope. After generations of silence, a new breath of life. Now all generations, for all time, can be reconciled with God. Our relationship with Him restored. A reason to hope. Hope with no if's or but's – Hope.
