“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
Revelation 22:13 (NIV)
I don’t know about you, but it can seem like the world is falling apart. All around us, seismic changes are occurring to the way we live our lives. Every day, the news shows an even more horrific event that happened either in the UK or around the world. We think and pray this morning particularly for those affected by the Glasgow and Reading stabbings.
As if that wasn’t enough, the Coronavirus pandemic continues to ravage the world, and even though we don’t have the daily briefings anymore, people are still dying from this terrible disease. The wider affects of the pandemic mean that people are losing their jobs, and for many their livelihoods with it. We pray for all those affected by COVID-19.
Maybe for you today, you too feel like your world is falling apart. Maybe you feel at the centre of a storm of circumstances. But today, His message to you is simple – I am still here. No matter where you are, what you are going through, He still loves you and wants to journey with you through whatever lies ahead.
I appreciate and understand that for many, this can be hard to hear. I am well aware of how distant you can feel from Him and how hard it can be to turn to Him. When I lost my Grandma, my initial response was to be angry. When one of my Uni friends passed away, I didn’t really want to turn to God. I know that life can be tough. I don’t know what you are going through, but He does. When things are falling apart, stay true to the best of who you are. It isn’t always easy but turn to Him. Remembering all the while, that you are His child. You were intimately and lovingly made by the Creator of the Universe. You are His.
The challenge is placing your faith in the unseen, but when you take that leap of faith, He will not let you fall. The question today remains, will you trust in Him in the valley just as much as the mountain top?
It is my hope and prayer that today that you are able to join with His people who are suffering all across the world in saying;
You are still my God You’re still my rock My only hope Lord, You’re all I’ve got In every valley or mountaintop I’ll say hallelujah
(P.S – Today, the interview that I have done with Ed and the team at Some Sort of Miracle has gone live! Go check it out here.)
